BESITY AS takes into the uttermost consideration the protection, safeguard and respect of the privacy of its customers, collaborators and partners and it acts to ensure that access to data is consistent, transparent and secured for all the actors involved in the fruition of its services.

BESITY AS believes that personal data belongs to the people and that the people must have the rights and be empowered with the technical means necessary to request their amendment or disposal, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

BESITY AS will never share, sale or disclose any personal information collected throughout any interaction with its customers, collaborators or partners unless this information is clearly stated as part of an explicit agreement for the service provided and it is strictly necessary to its functioning, or it is required by Swiss Law. For example, users taking part to an online webinar might see their names shared in the participant roster. This information shared among the participants is considered necessary to the functioning of the webinar.

What data do we collect?

BESITY AS collects the following data:

  • Personal identification information, such as: name, email adress, phone number, profession
  • Login accesses to its systems
  • Aggregated statistics information about the use of its online services (example: which pages are more frequently accessed, how many times a form has been submitted, and so forth)
  • Visitors information to websites and online services, in particular: number and frequency of visits by time, IPs and provenance of visitors

How do we collect your data?

You directly provide BESITY AS with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you :

  • Register online or place an order for any of our products or services
  • Voluntarily complete a customer survey or provide feedback on any of our message boards, forms or via email
  • Use or view our website via your browser’s cookies
  • Access any of our systems with your login credentials

How will we use your data?

BESITY AS collects your data so that we can:

  • Process your order and manage your account
  • Email you with information about our activities, events for which you have subscribed
  • Email you with important notes related to the security of your accounts or your privacy

When BESITY AS processes your order, it may send your data to, and also use the resulting information from, credit reference agencies to prevent fraudulent purchases

How do we store your data?

BESITY AS stores and processes all your data in Switzerland in Infomaniak Data Centers. Infomaniak is ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certified and since 2015 has commissioned the greenest datacenter in Switzerland which requires no air conditioning and is powered exclusively by renewable energies. BESITY AS will keep your data for a maximum period of 5 years unless:

  • Swiss Law requires differently
  • They are still strictly necessary to provide you a service that you requested

Once this time period has expired BESITY AS will delete your data.


BESITY AS would like to send you information about products, services, events, researches or publications, related to digital knowledge management and organisational learning that we think you might like. If you have agreed to receive marketing, you may always opt out at a later date. You also have the right at any time to stop BESITY AS from contacting you for marketing purposes.

What are your data protection rights?

BESITY AS would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

  • The right to access – You have the right to request BESITY AS for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service
  • The right to rectification – You have the right to request that BESITY AS correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request BESITY AS to complete the information you believe is incomplete
  • The right to erasure – You have the right to request that BESITY AS erase your personal data, under certain conditions
  • The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that BESITY AS restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions
  • The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to BESITY AS’s processing of your personal data, under certain conditions
  • The right to data portability – You have the right to request that BESITY AS transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
